Part 31: Saamy; A D.C.P who ruled over my mind!!

There was a deep silence when they showed Kavithalaya Banner. But the very next moment when they showed the title, I felt like the roof is going to fly for the shouting of the crowd. I had to close my ears.

‘Oh God, why these people are so crazy and behave like this?’, I was wondering.

I just whispered in Rajesh’s ears. ‘What’s this, Rajesh? I don’t know what these people will when Hero enters?’

He just smiled and replied, ‘Just wait and see how he enters!’

Just few seconds..

Lights.. Camera. Action! And there he is!

Oh my gosh! Boy o boy, I was right .I felt like the theatre is going to burst now.

Above all the surprising thing was, I enjoyed that noise inside the theatre!!!!

For the first time in my life I was enjoying the noise inside the theatre!!!!! Oh my God! I just could not believe it!!!!

I don’t blame anyone of the audiences.

Because there’s something about him! Specially the way he enters in the scene! Something, which makes perfectly same people go berserk.

Wait…not over, not even a gap of minutes. He sets the fire again with the ‘Tirunalveli Halwa da’ song. The audiences started to leap to their feet and throw coins at the screen; with the arrival of the new popcorn Adonis suddenly every other hero looked a little more tired, a little more jaded. I don’t know why I felt so. Yes, I noticed that he has the great screen presence.

But hey, hold for a while.

‘Even in 'Gemini' I had noticed his dancing skills. Let me see how he acts .Of course ‘O Podu’ played a major role in ‘Gemini’s success. So someway this title track must be the highlight of the movie.’ My mind was thinking. But I agreed, those first 7 minutes were enough to make the movie an unconditional hit. Audiences were unstoppable.

The movie gave me the another blow within the next 5 minutes with the wonderful action sequence, and much surprising ‘Onnuchchamy Renduchchamy’ dialogue and the next breathless dialogue delivery were completely beyond my expectation.

I just could not believe my eyes. I could not believe the fact that there could be someone who can keep Rajini’s style and mannerism away from my mind for a while!! Just could not believe my eyes!! Really I didn’t know how the next 2 hours passed. Could not even believe that the movie was over!! So soon!!!! I did not even notice the time at all. I was just wondering about the D.C.P who ruled over my mind for more than 2 hours. I completely forgot that it was Vikram. I was just able to see the character Aarusaamy.

The movie made one point every clear to me. Most actors are non-actors, they are stylished and their mannerisms become popular. That’s the first time I was able to see a total actor.

We went to have dinner after the movie. Everyone was very curious about my reaction..

Obviously I was smiling. Rajesh did not stop and directly asked. ‘So, how was the movie?’

‘It was nice.’ I tried to cut short my words but as I knew that they wanted to hear about Vikram’s performance, I told, ‘He was really cool and a big surprise.’

‘So, hereafter you watch his movies?’, Rajesh asked with me.

‘Of course but why you are asking all these to me?’

‘No, simply .Looks like you also became his fan.’

‘Rajesh, I am not anyone’s far, Okay? I agree Vikram is much better than the other stereotyped actors. If you take even Ajit, Maddy,Surya also perform well but Vikram has got much more experience and good acting skills than them. He may reach up to the level where now Rajini and Kamal stay. He has that stamina. I hope he reaches to that level very soon .Nothing else. I am not his fan. I wish for him for his great future, as he struggled a lot, as all you say. I wish if I could get his life story!! I don’t think I may ever get it.’ I said. But at that moment I had no clue that the story of this man may turn as awe inspiring and life saving one in my life in the near future.

Thus ‘Saamy’ became the first movie of Vikram, which I watched in theatre. It became the first story of a cop, which was completely out of the box. I liked the story of a cop for the first time in my life, as it was inspired by the policies of my idol Lord Krishna. Above everything it was ‘Saamy’ by which I sat and noticed one of the finest actors in South India, named Vikram who later became an undividable part of my life!
